Our Team

Dr. Thomas-Alexandre Noël holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Ottawa and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Université de Montréal. He completed an externship in ophthalmology at the Syracuse Veterans Hospital in New York. He served as President of the College of Optometrists of Ontario (2015–2017) and has held leadership roles with the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Noël has contributed extensively to provincial health policy, including as Co-Chair of the Health Quality Ontario Glaucoma Clinical Expert Advisory Group and Co-Chair of the Eye Health Council of Ontario. He has authored clinical guidelines in glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration and is a frequent speaker at national forums. In 2022, he received the “121e bâtisseur de l’optométrie”distinction, and in 2026, the H. James Cobean Memorial Award, the highest honour from the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Dr. Noël continues to practice comprehensive optometry in Ottawa and remains actively involved in advancing the profession through leadership, education, and collaboration. Outside of his professional activities, he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as skiing, tennis, and water skiing.


Dr. Elias Nour is a Canadian board-certified optometrist with special interest in medical
glaucoma, refractive surgery management, and anterior segment disease. He earned his Doctor
of Optometry degree with honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and
Vision Science in 2019. For the past several years, Dr. Nour has practiced at Precision Cornea
Centre and Herzig Eye Institute in Ottawa, where he has collaborated and worked closely with
leading ophthalmologists in the medical and surgical management of complex cornea,
glaucoma, and refractive cases. Dr. Nour has previously served as President of the Ottawa
Society of Optometrists and remains an active member of the Ontario Association of
Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the Refractive Surgery Alliance.
Passionate about clinical education, he also serves as a clinical instructor for senior optometry
students from the University of Montreal and the New England College of Optometry.
Dr. Pooya Hemami is a fluently bilingual independent optometrist with over 20 years of clinical experience spanning Ottawa and Montreal across multiple areas of practice including primary care and refractive surgery co-management. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Université de Montréal and was recognized with distinction awards in ocular pharmacology and physiological optics. Dr. Hemami is authorized to prescribe ophthalmic medications. He also has significant experience in optometric and health regulation and holds an MBA degree from McGill University as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. When not engaging in optometric practice, Dr. Hemami works as a financial analyst and supervisory analyst for a content-led global investor relations firm.
